SAND

Sand filters use turbidity removal technology to eliminate the problem of water turbidity, generated by the high presence of suspended material such as sludge, silt, clay and other colloidal substances.

Turbidity removal filters are comprised of a column containing a multi-layer filtering bed of sand and quartz gravel of varying, selected grain size. The filtering media is permanent: it does not require replacement as it is regenerated with simple backwashing with water. This is carried out automatically by the head controlled by an electronic displacement timer/control.
Sand filters need to be installed at the water mains inlet and can be used to filter water for both civil and industrial use.
Available in models with varying capacities: between 25 and 500 litres.
